THE JUMP START EXPERIENCE
The production of a project scope statement, a schedule, and budget, for your project are the objectives of the jump start experience. Whether you choose to acquire instruction to develop these yourself, or you engage Shanna to develop them, the steps described below are collaborative and you should expect productive real work sessions, constructive dialogue regarding your
approach, and a higher probability of gaining the attention your project needs when you reconnect with your organization or project audiences.
Who Can Benefit from Jump Start
Step 1 Crafting Your Scope Statement
Consultation
These steps can be bundled or unbundled, and scheduled to suit your individual or organizational needs.
In facilitated sessions with you or multiple members of your organization, while the project is discussed, Shanna can write the scope statement, and/or develop the schedule and budget. Groups and individuals who do not gravitate toward writing, or the computer, find this method very effective.
Instruction
Course attendees will leave the steps of this course with draft materials. Course participants should be experienced
with Microsoft Word and Excel, and should expect to learn essential functions of Microsoft Project while developing their
project schedule. Participants may optionally participate in a short session on the Project Management Institute
(PMI) during the course to become familiar with PMI, the project management professional* (PMP) certification process, the PMI
website, and PMI Portland area meeting and networking options.
Schedule Suggestions for the Steps you Need
Sequential 1/2 days
